Nokia s new C3 is an inexpensive alternative QWERTY messaging Smartphone; it has plenty of support for e-mail, messaging and social networking and with an FM radio tuner and digital camera it also has entertainment well covered. The C3 has speedy web connectivity and it comes in an assortment of colours including a candy pink! A vibrant 2.4inch display gives a crisp, clean image and the music player is backed up by a 3.5mm jack and an 8GB memory expansion via the microSD slot.

The phone has been given a nice, shiny metallic finish and the body is well moulded to fit comfortably in the palm. The C3 comes in silver, black and pink so it will appeal to a wider consumer base, the QWERTY keypad is well represented by slightly raised panels which are easy to tap and make a real difference, cutting typing times down so messages can be constructed quicker and easier. Nokia have positioned the 2.4inch QVGA display in a landscape position which does a great job of displaying web pages and helps in the messaging process giving you a larger area to write in.

The Nokia OSS browser is well serviced by Wi Fi connectivity and 2G network coverage, browsing on the C3 is generally quite a good experience, pages are loaded quite quickly and the landscape screen compliments the speedy page rendering. All of your network based communications are handled by EDGE and GPRS, sites like Facebook and Twitter can be handled and the latest tweets and updates from your friends can be streamed straight to your C3. A dedicated shortcut key has been supplied so you can access your messages instantly from anywhere in the phone, SMS messages are displayed in conversation form for a simpler experience. From the C3 you can manage up to 10 different accounts from popular providers like Hotmail, Yahoo! Mail and Gmail, Nokia also provide there own free e-mail service called Ovi Mail; this is part of the pre-installed Ovi package which includes Ovi Maps and Ovi Contacts.

A 2 mega pixel digital camera is located on the back of the phone; it will deliver reasonably ok pictures and videos, any stills and videos you do capture can be shared via MMS, e-mail and Bluetooth wireless technology. Videos and photos can also be uploaded to Facebook, Twitter and YouTube so you can share your content with the world. The C3 supports a pretty nifty music player which is supported by Nokia s Ovi Music Store; all your favourite tracks from the most popular artists in the world are available for download and the addition of a 3.5mm jack means you can plug in your favourite headphones to listen to them.

Much has been said about Nokia s new C series phones with the C6 and C5 Smartphones receiving great praise themselves, but the Nokia C3 is an affordable substitute to there popular E72 and brand new E5 phones. Nokia have given messaging phones a new angle with this reasonably priced number. So, for a messaging experience with social network integration on a budget, see Nokia and check out the C3.
